COMMUNITY OUTREACH/SERVICE:

19th May, 2023.

I visited Aflao Border JHS, a government school located at Aflao Border in the Volta Region of Ghana today Friday, 19th May 2023.

The activities were educating the JHS 3 pupils on:

1. the causes of kidney problems among the youth.

2. the causes, prevention, signs and symptoms of urinary tract infections (UTIs).

3. causes and preventions of some common sexually transmitted infections (STIs).

4. general health problems.

The education was a success and it was really appreciated by both the students and teachers.

30th May, 2023.

I visited Fievie, one of the suburbs in Sogakope located in the Volta region of Ghana today on 30th May 2023, where I did home visits. The main purpose of my visit was to assess the health of

the elderly people in each home I visited.

The activities were as follow:

1. Checking of blood pressure for the elderly.

2. Doing physical assessment on the elderly.

3. Educating the elderly on the need for checking the blood pressure and interpretation of figures with the involvement of available relatives.

4. Encouragement of the elderly people whose blood pressures are high to visit the nearest health center for early management.

5. Education on general health problems.

During the visit, I came across a mother whose baby of two weeks old was suffering from Pemphigus. I educated the mother and encouraged her to visit the hospital for possible management and treatment.

The visits were successful and were really appreciated by the people in the various homes I visited. The experience was really great.
